Saturday night: pick your restaurant a few days ahead of time and reserve a table; note that things wrap up early here, so if you like to eat late (9 PM plus) you may have fewer choices.
Montana Grizzly Encounter - 10 minutes east of town at Jackson Creek Road, just off I90 - you'll pass their tacky signs but this bear sanctuary is anything but tacky. The five bears are extremely well cared for, and the running bear education narrative is interesting, accurate, and useful. Plus the bears are really fun and I think it costs just $7 a person to get it. Check hours before you go.
Museum of the Rockies, on the MSU campus, well worth your time.
Main Street stroll - very pleasant little downtown.
Gallatin Valley Mall - skip it.
