succumbed to global warming; or maybe it was just local warming.
In retrospect, I probably should have done a screen capture, so everyone could share in the experience.
Prior to yesterday, whenever I was making my pitch about how I have seen winter weather on Mt. Washburn in every month of the year, I had to tell of the time in July of 1974, when two of my brothers and I saw snow fly while hanging around the summit. That snow was what I would consider "token snow", and did not accumulate. Well, that which fell Sunday and/or Sunday evening had to be "serious snow", because (1) there was enough to be fashioned into the little snow mascot we saw on the railing of the lookout residence; and (2) there is still a fair coating on the north side of the mountain today. It will be gone soon. The south side is already pretty well melted.
Here's a link to a perspective on one mountain in particular that never loses its snow, for those that need a view of copious snow for psychic cooling.
