The various NOAA weather monitoring stations in Yellowstone and just outside are already showing temps above 32F, although that may change with nightfall. Tomorrow's forecast calls for a 15 degree warm-up. The MDT road report does not reflect problems in Gallatin Canyon at this point, or even on Hwy 20 in Idaho going south. Those tourists probably did OK, going the long way around, but sometimes, Homestake Pass, just east of Butte, can be troublesome if snow has fallen.

The closure of Dunraven Pass is just the complication many of us worried about when the NPS announced the plan for closing the Mammoth-Norris Road in September and early October.

Of course, there is a new snowman on the Mt. Washburn web cam.
