Some fun in the sand, Black Sand

Hayden and I both like Black Sand Basin, and Karlie uses the time to relax, check out the
views and do a little reading. Two years ago we did a Ranger Talk here to finish up
Hayden's requirements for a Junior Ranger Badge, and last year we had a great time only
to have Hayden slip as he left the boardwalk and do a nice slicing job on his knee. By the
time I washed it out with the water we were carrying, a wonderful woman showed up with
a perfect sized band-aid, and he was almost as good as new. After all that fun we had to
do it again this year. In all seriousness though, this is a great place to spend some quality
time. The big show at Black Basin is Cliff Geyser. It plays often and is beautiful to watch.
Here it is just beginning the show.
