I had to laugh when that fat bear sat down to wait for his next handout to come by. I remember the roadside bears back in the late 1950s and early 60s. Some day I'll dig out the old 8mm movies to see what my dad captured on film during our visits.

It certainly wasn't a healthy situation for either the bears or the tourists. The changes were controversial at the time but it was a good step in the right direction.
