In order for folks to have a general page where anything goes, topic-wise, John separated discussion into two pages: the Loon Zone, which is where most Loons hang out between Yellowstone topics, and this page, which is meant to focus on Yellowstone, the Tetons, and related subjects.
Both pages are still fun and I visit them several times a day. No reason not to post your tripod question over there as well - as you point out, that's where the larger readership hangs out, day to day.
