This is an experiment to see if I can link photos from the Yellowstone 365 Meetup website.

We had one of those wonderful serendipitous moments in Yellowstone on 9/27/19, just before the conclusion of our Fall Color Walk. We had been photographing aspen groves along the strip where the flat sage meadows across Soda Butte Creek from the Lamar River trailhead and Soda Butte meet the base of Mt. Norris. We were walking back to the cars at the Footbridge pullout, when a member of our group spotted 4 black wolves coming down a hillside above where we had been earlier. We stopped and watched them. They entered the meadow, and headed toward the Lamar River, staying close to the base of the mountain. When they got to an area just below Dead Puppy Hill, they were close enough for me to take some shots with my Nikon P900, which has a way powerful zoom (equivalent to a 2,000 mm telephoto SLR lens at maximum tele-zoom). The light was dimming as twilight was approaching. By the time we got back to the road, it was almost dark. If this photo link works, I might post another shot or two.
