I don't know how long you'll be in Mammoth before/after your coach trip, but I strongly encourage you to explore that area - from Mammoth to Northeast Entrance - if you have time. It's a major contributor to the winter in Yellowstone experience.

There are many good guides working in the Northern Range who will pick you up and deliver you back to Mammoth. One of my favorites is Jort (pronounced Yort) Vanderveen, very ethical, knowledgeable, a great wildlife spotter and photographer. Check him out!

View from the Lamar River Bridge...where many have passed since the last snow :-) Otters, foxes, coyotes, who knows who else went there.
