Heading south five days ago, visitation could not have been at more than 5% of usual for the week following Memorial Day. Then on Friday June 5, a lot of facilities (e.g., lodging, camp grounds, convenience stores etc.) opened in the Tetons and in Yellowstone. Tetons visitation numbers varied extremely widely based on where you were. If you were standing on the roadside watching grizzlies, visitation numbers were normal, but demographics distinctly on the white-bread American citizen side, almost no non-English speakers or other evidence of non-domestic visitors. If you were elsewhere in the Tetons, visitation was quite low compared to the first full week of June in previous years.
Highway traffic was visibly increased in Yellowstone at the end of the week (Sunday, June 7) in which a lot opened up, but clearly way below the usual for early June. Having said that, due to unceasing car wash-strength rain, it's hard to guess what utilization is in Yellowstone now.

Brand new elk calf in Mammoth, me and two others with tripods set up, and a few comers-and-goers with iPhones. NOT normal for June 7.

Photos follow after a while, I have a lot to edit. So for now, enjoy this photo of Mammoth elk calves from one year ago to the day. The fencing was related to the then still ongoing renovation of the hotel, which is now complete.
