Granite Head,

Apparently, there is a 20 post maximum. I was blocked from tacking this on to your last post, so I came up here to post this.

Thanks for taking all the time to post this series. It looks like you had a great summer and autumn, in spite of the spring closure, the ongoing closure of various facilities, and the smoke invasion from afar.

As always, your photos are outstanding, and the narrative informative.

We were down in the Bridge Bay area on the Sunday of Closing Weekend, and the great gray "hunters" were out in force. One we spoke to before we walked out to Natural Bridge and a few other attractions had seen an owl on Saturday, but wasn't able to get any photos. He was back on Sunday, hoping to get another opportunity. He was still at it, along with a few other folks, when we departed the area hours later.

We saw one on a hike up Pelican Valley in a piece of classic great gray habitat. There was a major audible squabble going on back in the forest as we were approaching the area where some other hikers had seen the owl. When it finally stopped, the owl came gliding out of the forest, crossed the meadow behind us, and disappeared into another patch of forest.
