Greetings! Was going to park a note further down the page, but I fumble-fingered it, and it got 'et. Week ago Tuesday, I thought I'd go see how the construction was progressing, and whether the ice cream at Tower was still good. I turned south at the junction, then learned it was going to be a long wait, and turning around wasn't going to be smart. At least I had a good view of the earth mover tearing up the hillside north of Calcite Springs. Eventually we did get moving, and I was able to slip into a parking slot at the Tower store. Got a bowl of berry something (They had Moosetracks!), and was sitting on the porch to enjoy it when I realized the normal crowd at Tower was synchronized. Hopped back in the jeep, thinking, "Aha! I'll get in line right at Overhanging Cliff and can spend the next twenty minutes or so perusing the cliffs for raspberries!" It was not to be...all the cars moved out and just kept on going, except for a brief halt at the cliffs to let some folks who had parked at the overlooks into line. Too dry this year for berries, or they've already been cleaned out. But the north-bound synchronization was really amazing.
