Here's what occurred based on the radio traffic I heard.
Two vehicles involved, a Honda Civic and a minivan of some type. Nine people injured, 5 transported and 4 treated/released on scene. Response involved two fire engines and seven ambulances (2 from OF, 2 from Lake, 2 from Canyon, and the one from Grant). A GTNP ambulance was also enroute, but got turned around at the South Gate.
Most critical injury was a broken sternum and femur in a older man. He was transported to Lake Clinic and airlifted to EIRMC. Other victims had non-life threatening injuries including back pain, neck pain, etc, with a broken ankle thrown in for good measure. One person was transported to Cody, while all the rest were transported to Lake or the OF Clinics. Two of those transported to Lake were airlifted in addition to the dude with the femur break (three total).
I never herd anything that indicated specifically what happened. Maybe those details will be released tomorrow.
