Portage Pass hike - 5/28/15

Last Thursday, with my usual hiking buddy unavailable due to a backlog of non-fun work, I decided to hoof it over Portage Pass to Portage Lake from the trailhead near Whittier. Roundtrip, it is only a little more than 4 miles, but it includes an elevation gain of 800 feet, which, as you will see, greatly enhances the view of the scenery on both sides of the pass.

This first shot was taken from the top of the pass, looking back toward the trailhead. That is a tiny piece of Prince William Sound in the background.
