We do have a poster or two who were married in the park, so I think with patience (it may take them a few days to notice your query) you should get some good guidance.

NOW is indeed the time to decide where to stay. If you want to stay in Mammoth, the Mammoth Hotel and Cabins are your only choice - they fill up fast, so you might want to get in contact with Xanterra, by phone, right away, especially if you need a number of rooms or cabins for other people too.

Alternatively there are cabins and motels in Gardiner, just 5 miles north of Mammoth. Most aren't fancy, but they're clean and convenient. What's your budget?

Another option for the wedding itself might be Chico Hot Springs (pic is of the historic main lodge), which is a good 40 minute drive north of the park, so it's not good for daily commuting but it's very romantic and well set up for events, has a range of nice accommodations, and a very good restaurant. After the wedding you and yours could then move into the park so you don't spend all your time driving back and forth.

My suggestion, assuming you have more than a couple of days there, is to spend several nights at each of two locations - perhaps the Old Faithful area, and the Canyon area would give you good access to the main attractions on each side of the park.
