On our very first family vacation to the Tetons....way back in 2000, I severely twisted my ankle on our first hike. We did the Taggart Lake trail, relatively short and easy, to allow everyone to get acclimated to the altitude. I elected to wear my tennies instead of boots. Bad idea. Twisted my ankle badly when I stepped on a rock in the trail. Ended up in Jackson at the hospital for xray. Not broken, but badly sprained. Couldn't wear my boots or put much wt. on the ankle for the rest of the trip.

To top that off, the kids all got poison ivy. We were camping at Colter Bay. The only place in GTNP that had poison ivy plants at that time was across Jackson Lake...where there was a sizable wildfire burning. Apparently, the kids got the rash from the smoke drifting across the lake from that fire.

Yup, lost of good memories from that trip!

Hope your foot is feeling better.
