Moose: along Moose-Wilson Rd. Across from the Taggart Lake trailhead. A big bull moose in the pond just north of Pilgrim Creek back on that dirt road that goes east.
Grizzlies: saw 610 and 399 at Jackson Lake Junction area. Between the junction and the dam seems to be a good place. Sow with 2 cubs in Hayden Valley.
Black Bears: mama & 2 cubs anywhere around Calcite Spring down to Rainy Lake. Saw a couple around Elk Creek. Saw one at the Soda Butte Creek picnic area. Had a real close encounter 13 miles south of Lake Hotel with a big male.
Wolves: saw one black wolf in Hayden Valley. Saw many in Lamar Valley a long ways out there.
Other:
- Osprey nest visible close to Lookout Point in Canyon
- We didn't see the weasel but they are active in Soda Butte River picnic area eating the squirrel babies.
- We loved the foxes just outside the NE entrance, right by the road.
- Sapsucker nest right by the steps (to the left) going up to the Calcite Spring overlook.
- Looks like an active beaver site along Moose-Wilson Road.
