Guess that's what this pronghorn doe (Slough Creek Road) had to say about me!

So I don't know all that much about pronghorn life-cycles, though often at this time of year you either see doe(s) with fawns, or small mixed herds of bucks and does with no apparent fawns, and I often see the bucks chasing the does mercilessly. Isn't rut sometime much later in the fall?

This lady was accompanied only by one handsome gentleman. Were they just hanging out together or were they courting? They weren't paying all that much attention to each other, just moving along together, browsing through the sage.

I for one am pleased at the large number of pronghorns one sees around Yellowstone - mostly in Little America/Lamar and around North Entrance - these days. They're having a rough time in some parts of the country, especially as they are migraters and can't deal well at all with the fences and highways of increasing development.
