Well, it's not really a pet, it has to be kept behind a fence :-)

Kevin had to go up close by himself the broken toe discouraged me from walking up there.

For a couple of evenings along the road to Petrified Tree there was a black black bear sow with two cinnamon COYs hanging around. We watched her late one evening while she chowed down on grass and the adorable kids used fallen snags and stumps as jungle gyms. At one point she sat down facing us, resting her back on a fallen log, called the cubs, and for a few minutes held one to each breast for a little milk break. It was utterly charming to watch, but unfortunately too dark for a photograph to share here.
