I thought I had posted the latest news article 3 or 4 days ago, but when I checked the page the next day, it wasn't there. Could be a symptom of advancing age!

The essence of the news is that a few days ago, someone broke the fence at the Stephens Creek capture facility outside the North Entrance, and a bunch of bison escaped. Most of them re-entered the facility on their own the next day. (Might be an "easy food" sort of thing, kind of like baiting human teenagers with cheeseburgers or pizza.) Since then several hundred more bison have been captured and sequestered in the facility. In the wake of the second instance of fence busting, the NPS has ratcheted up security to prevent a third incident, and possibly identify and arrest the guilty party(s).
