Granite Head,

Very nice shots of the Wapitis! We were late to the game on that photo opp, arriving several days after the wolves were there in great numbers. By then it was one sleeping wolf a ways off and several coyotes coming and going. There was still quite an array of photogs lining the road.

The harlequins were spectacular this year. I did catch them on one of the days when they were coming very close to the viewing platform. What an opportunity!

Wolf visibility was markedly improved this spring, with the sudden arrival of what appeared to be a new pack (if they produced a litter) on the northwest shoulder of Mt. Everts for a while. On one particular day, we came through the North Entrance just in time to see several of the group working their way toward Gardiner on the flat between the Rescue Creek trail and the confluence of the Gardner and Yellowstone Rivers.
