I've never seen otters in Yellowstone. That's in and of itself a reason to keep coming back! Kevin hasn't either, and he's dying to, to after lunch of course we had to go to Trout Lake! No anglers yet - not until June 15, but spawn was on!
I have been told variously that the fish are Yellowstone cutthroats, but also that they're "cut-bow" hybrids with rainbows. They're quite beautiful either way, and it's easy to imagine why the otters like them :-)
Sorry about the composition, out of numerous attempts at photography, this is the only shot that turned up with recognizable fish anatomy in it.
