I am pretty sure that the Canyon cabins were built using money from Mission 66. So date of late 60's early 70's would make sense. We stayed in a Pioneer Cabin at Canyon this year, certainly not the greatest, but Canyon is a great location. We stayed in a refurbished Lake Western cabin two years ago and it was great, but certainly quite a bit more per night. I think we are leaning for a return to Lake next year if possible. They generally don't open before the middle of June and we are often in the park in early June.
