I hinted below, under Geo-Thermology, on this trip I became a little better acquainted with the "Norris Trailside Museum" AKA, the Norris VC. It's funny how easy it is to ignore such a stand-out structure for years. But as I also mentioned, I always thought of it as a clunky, not terribly attractive building with little of interest inside. But there are major details I have been missing.

It turns out that it is one of four buildings designed by architect Herbert Maier, which were the Old Faithful Trailside Museum, which was taken down in 1972 (before my first trip to the park), and the Madison Junction Trailside Museum, which I did not get to photograph on this trip.
