I didn't sleep well at all. My heart was racing, I had cramps...I just felt yucky. I'm guessing I was dehydrated from the hike up. Anyway, the silver lining to all that is that I got up, pulled on my jacket and went to sit outside for awhile and drink some water. It was a beautiful night. I saw three or four brilliant meteorites. I finally crawled back in my bag and fell asleep.

I have finally come to grips with the fact that I just can't carry or consume enough water on these climbing hikes. I need to carry something else. A sports drink of some sort, I guess. There is no easy access to water for refills once you get up above tree line here.

We all got up at 0-dark-thirty cuz we wanted to get back up to the top for the sunrise. I told Mort and Steve to go on ahead cuz I knew I wasn't going to climb fast. I ended up not climbing at all. I just couldn't do it. I was so incredibly thirsty and just didn't have the energy. I'd take a few steps and start to feel nauseaous. No good. I went back to camp to wait for them to return.
