We are still in the Tetons, and having been trained by Mr. Moose to check the Moose-Wilson Road at every opportunity, we do so, pretty early in the morning, considering that I am traveling with Kevin and we are staying way up at Signal Mountain. We drift south and there's no moose today, but instead a small cluster of big glass pointed, apparently, at nothing a little south of Moose Pond on the hill above the road. We pull off and I hobble up the hill to ask, "whatchawatchin?" and it turns out there's an flicker nest (almost spelled it "flickr") waaay over in the hole in that tree over there. Well, that's more than my funked out lens could appreciate so I said "thanks", and, to myself, "we'll just skip this one..." We went a tad further, then decided to turn around and go bear-looking. No sooner did we pass Mr. Moose's pond than we realized another jam had formed.

Me thinks, when I see what it's all about, "now THIS is something I can capture even with my busted lens!"
