This is a wider look at what I call Perch #1, where the bird was when I arrived.
The small group of people standing along the shoulder was very quiet and respectful, and the bird continued balanced on the tip of this snag for maybe 15 or 20 minutes. It occasionally rotated its head, as owls do, but it ignored its audience.
The morning and the setting were so lovely, it didn't really matter to me whether it ever did anything more than that, or not.
