Hi Everyone,

I will get the opportunity to visit Yellowstone for the first time during the period September 14-16, 2012. My main goal is to see the wolves in the northeast portion of the Park. Since Roosevelt Lodge is closed during this time period, I'm looking for a place to stay. I was thinking Siver Gate or Cooke City. I have two questions. What does everyone think and where specifically do you recommend? Do the wildlife generally stay in the Lamar Valley during this time of the year or are they migrating elsewhere?

Also, I will be flying into Cody, Wyoming and driving up to the Northeast portion of the Park on Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. Going back, I will be driving down from Roosevelt to Canyon. What condition will these roads be at that time of the year and will they even be open?

I appreciate any help or advise you guys can give me.

Thanks!
