Yesterday I mentioned that the walk around Phelps Lake was our last hike of the trip. What followed was a real tragicomedy of errors with some pain and a good photo op or two.
After the hike, which is something like 7 miles, my feetsies were hot and I thought I would liberate my toes by changing from hiking shoes to sandals. AHHHH! You know the feeling :-)
We headed back toward Dornan's, the nearest source of ice and a Coke, but encountered a wonderful bull moose in that seasonal pond/slough area that's a little closer to Moose than to the Rockefeller Center.
He had the prettiest velvet, I wanted to ask him if he would let me touch it.
