I'm not telling you to back off of this topic in general, but backing off the point that I am saying what this person did was illegal. I acknowledged that this was a legal hunt. That's all. I know there are a lot of people with a lot of opinions out there, and it's good for everyone to hear these opinions. Don't stop with that.

I still feel (as well as many others) that these recent wolf killings were done because of who the wolves were. '06 was the wolf everyone knew. They knew what she looked like, and what 755M and 754M looked like. The 2 males looked almost identical, being they are brothers.

Even though '06 was the alpha female, she was not the largest wolf in the pack, and quite honestly, not the most attractive (still a beautiful wolf). These wolves were traveling as a pack, and if the hunter wanted the largest and best "trophy" wolf from this pack, it would not have been '06. "Middle Gray" is a much prettier wolf and is just as big as '06. Also, the other pack wolves could easily have been taken as they do not have a collar and would make a much better trophy.

'06 was killed because of who she was, plain and simple. The vast majority of Yellowstone wolves killed this year have been collared. Another fact.

I know this is a legal hunt. But my understanding is that the reason for the hunt is to eliminate the wolves that are taking livestock from ranchers and are causing other problems for us 2 legged creatures. Killing Yellowstone wolves has nothing to do with this, as these wolves stay mainly in the park and do not bother people. These are killed simply because they can be, not for causing problems.

Anyway, I'm sure we can go back and forth on this topic, and I really don't feel like doing that. Anyone that knows me knows I am an animal lover, not just wolves. I would have this same mindset no matter what kind of animal we were talking about.
