If these wolves were taken because they were affecting livestock, which these wolves were not, I would not have a problem. Moreover, these wolves ('06, 754, etc) were targeted specifically because they are collared Yellowstone wolves. That's it. Their pelt is worthless because it is damaged from the collars. These so-called hunters only want to take collared Yellowstone wolves because the pathetic laws in these states allow them.

So yes, I am calling these wanna be hunters as poachers. I am sure they are tracking the signals in their collars. How is that hunting? I have relatives that are hunters. They kill the animal and have them butchered for their meat. Do you think that these wolves are going to be eaten? I don't think so.

I am very much against these "trophy" hunts. It makes no sense to me. All these collared Yellowstone wolves were not attacking livestock or doing any damage to ranchers. They were killed simply because they are Yellowstone wolves, and these poachers want to brag to their buddies that they killed a famous wolf. That is what makes me mad.

I agree that management of some sort should be used, but allowing the states to put a "kill on site" status on wolves is mind blowing. These were animals that not too long ago were listed as endangered. At this rate, they'll just bypass that and go to extinct. Better management is needed, since obviously the state's can't do it properly.

Anyway, I'm rambling on, but you can see I have a high opinion about this. I personally never got to see '06, but I did see members of her pack this year, and I did see 755 and 754. Now there probably won't be a Lamar Canyon pack to see anymore. It just makes me sad to think about that.
